Growing an audience from nothing, slowly

Everyone wants the trick that skips the first year. It does not exist, and the people selling it are describing survivorship, not method.

What does work is narrow and consistent. Pick one subject you can talk about for a long time without getting bored, and one place to talk about it. Being the person who reliably posts about a specific thing beats being another account posting about everything.

Reply more than you post, at least at the start. Nobody discovers an account with no audience by scrolling; they discover it because it said something useful underneath something they were already reading.

Give it months rather than weeks. The accounts that look like overnight successes almost always have a long quiet period behind them that nobody saw.
