Where to share your links without annoying everybody

The fastest way to get your links ignored is to drop them where nobody asked for them. The second fastest is to post the same link in twenty places on the same afternoon.

What actually works is unglamorous. Share where you already participate: a group you post in regularly, a community where people recognise your name, an audience you built somewhere else. A link from a familiar name gets opened. A link from a stranger gets scrolled past.

Context beats volume every time. One sentence explaining why the link is worth opening will outperform the bare URL by a wide margin, because it gives the reader a reason rather than asking them to gamble.

And if a platform explicitly bans link posting, believe it. Getting an account restricted costs you far more than one post was ever going to earn.
